This weekend

I can't believe February is already here and Lent (yikes!) will be upon us in 2 1/2 weeks!  I felt like Christmas flew by way to fast this year.  I think part of it had to do with the fact that we were moving and unpacking during Advent.  Ahhh well.  There's always next year.  The nativity is still up at our church though!  How awesome is that?  I think they leave it up until Candlemas which is in two days!

This weekend has been one the quietest weekends for me since having children 7 years ago.  My hubby took the boys on a weekend sledding trip with their troops of St. George group (like a Catholic boyscouts) and my mother-in-law is watching the younger two for two nights so it's just been me and the baby.  It's been awesome but I've missed all my kiddos and all the noise, and the hugs and kisses.  And I think Xavier is missing them too.  I've been doing errands, tidying up the house and catching up on-line which has been nice.  Definitely thankful for the rejuvenating weekend but looking forward to having everyone back tomorrow!

Speaking of tomorrow, today is the feast day of our family's patron saint, Saint John Bosco!  Since everyone isn't here to celebrate, we are going to tomorrow with leftover lasagna (since he's from Italy) and watch this awesome movie while eating popcorn!  St. John Bosco, pray for us!

So we are finally feeling settled in our new place.  We just bought the last couple pieces of furniture that we needed from craigslist.  Currently I'm working on finishing up the picture hanging and then I need to find curtains.  We are having our house blessed next Saturday so the sooner the better.  As soon as everything is up and decorated I will post pictures so you can see our new place.  It's starting to feel like home.  I'm still learning my way around up here to stores and such though.  If we had lived farther south, closer to my in-laws I would have been fine because I know my way around down there! Up here it's a whole different area!  But everything is relatively close and thank goodness for my phone's gps!

The boys are almost caught up in school now.  Actually, I would say they are really behind because if we keep at it from where we are, they will be done by the end of May.  That is without taking any breaks for Easter or anything else.  I'm hoping we can catch up even more so that we can finish school by the end of April - to beginning of May.  And I think it's pretty doable too.

Ahh, I need to do post up-dates on all the kids.  Maybe I'll work on that this week.  They are all growing up so fast!  There's so much more I could gab about but I really want to get to bed.  Can I just tell you how nice it was to sleep in until 8AM this morning?  Ahhhh.....
