Let's Chat

Yay we made it to the middle of the week and there are just two days left and then it'll be the glorious weekend!  I got my tea, my jazz music playing and hubby is doing the dishes (thanks hubs!).  Kids all went down relatively easy, the house is tidy, and all is good.  Xavier is keeping Gabe company in the kitchen.  School went smoothly today and one of my friends sent home dinner with hubby which was the icing on the cake of this day.  I think the smoothness of the day can be partly attributed to getting up a bit earlier today (the kids too) and we started school 1/2 hour earlier than normal.

What else?  Connor is doing so well with his potty training.  Only one accident and it wasn't until this evening.  First full day wearing pants & undies.  Hopefully it'll just get better from here and it's already so nice only having one in diapers.  Trying to get back to cloth too and there's not much more I love than a cloth diapered baby bum.  :)

Gabe and the kids did some gardening on Sunday while I relaxed outside on a blanket in the sun with the littles in shorts and a tank!  And yes it's only the beginning of February!  Man, we are loving this SoCal weather.  I forgot how totally awesome it was until we moved back.  I do get a little sad seeing everyone's snow pictures but not for long.  I don't know how well I would do actually living somewhere with heaps of snow for months on end.  So back to the gardening - they planted lettuce, sugar snap peas, and carrots.  We already have kale and a tomato plant growing from the previous tenants.  It's fun discovering all the other types of plants as they bloom and start to come up.  We have some jasmine which should be blooming sometime in the near future and which I'm super excited about.  If you haven't ever smelled a jasmine flower you're missing out.  The lemons are ripening nicely and are super sweet.

I really like our neighborhood.  It is so nice and quiet and the people have been friendly for the most part.  And can I just state that thanks to our motion sensor sprinkler we have not had any cat poop in our back yard since we put it out about two weeks ago?  It's been so nice and is now working it's magic in the front yard.

Well, plans for the rest of the week are as follows.  Tomorrow is park day with our homeschool group.  Friday I organized a Mom's night out at a brewery owned by another homeschooling family so that should be fun.  We have our house blessing Saturday and Sunday we are going over to someone's for dinner!  I can already sense that February is just going to fly by!
