7 Quick Takes

Ok, I'm doing this.  Even though it's 11 PM at night, I've been planning to write a post all day let alone the past few weeks and months.  Gabe took the boys on a sledding trip for the weekend, my mother-in-law has the younger two for two nights and I just have the baby who is currently sleeping so no excuses not to finally write!  In the past few months since I've blogged and we've been in So Cal I've learned....

1.

That I'm not missing the cockroaches scampering around the house one bit.  I'm still in the habit of turning on the light in a room and quickly scanning the floor to see if there is anything scurrying away to safety.  Please give me a daddy long legs or silverfish anytime but definitely not roaches!  

2.

That my tolerance of pets, specifically cats and dogs has decreased from a 1 to -10.  Before I maybe would have given a tiny consideration to having one but now no way.  Not unless we live on a farm and keep them outdoors.  And it would have to be a BIG farm.  I don't think having a pet is worth all the extra effort.  Cleaning up after it, walking it, being home in time to take it outside to pee, pretty much scheduling my whole life around it.  I'd rather have another baby any day!  Lots more babies for that matter.  And I'm very happy my husband agrees.  

3.

That I would spend more money than I would have ever considered before on getting a motion activated sprinkler to keep the cats away from our yards.  I will not tolerate cats pooping in my yard and my children stepping in it.  UGH!  

4.

That the weather in So Cal is absolutely AWESOME!  After living here, who would move back to Florida?  Not this west coast girl!

5.

That it is very nice to be living near family and have help with the children.  And having my mother-in-law bring over her delicious Lebanese food and stock our fridge.

6.

That it is absolutely wonderful to have so many Catholic opportunities right at our fingertips.  Awesome homeschool group, wonderful church, Catholic bookstores, troops of St. George (Catholic boy scouts) at the top of the list.

7.

And that living within 20 minutes drive of the beach is so great.  I missed being able to just head to the beach for an evening walk.
