7 Quick Takes

This morning before class Gabe was cutting watermelon for Aidan and he cut his finger pretty deep with one of our big sharp knives.  *shudders*  We didn't know what we should do at first but then we decided to take him to get it looked at on campus at the infirmary.  I sat with the boys in the waiting room for an hour while the doctor proceeded to put two stitches in Gabe's finger.  I guess it wasn't completely necessary that he have the stitches but he would have had to keep his finger very still here at home to keep the cut from reopening while it is trying to heal which is not very possible with three little boys running around.  However, the doctor warned him no dishes and no swimming for the next 10 days when he will get checked again and the stitches will be taken out.  I guess I'll be bathing the boys for the new week or so as well.

I'm so excited for the weekend!  Gabe has been taking an intensive lab class from 8:30 - 5 or 6ish every day this week so I've missed him being around.  He hasn't been around too much anyway, but I prefer when he makes his own schedule and I can always hope he'll come home early one day from work and surprise me.  :)  We were going to try and make it to the beach tomorrow, but we probably shouldn't now with Gabe's injured finger.  Maybe we'll be able to get there next weekend.

Packing for our move has been basically non existent and we are supposed to be moving in two weeks!   Every time I think I might be able to have a chance to pack a few boxes, something happens and I am needed.  I think I am also procrastinating quite a bit because I don't know where to start!  Moving is such a big undertaking.  *sigh*

The boys have been overwhelming me lately.  I feel like I have not been near as calm as I should be in certain situations.  I really need to take more time to just sit and read to them and play with them.  They are so cute and getting big so fast.  Aidan and Kieran are teething and have both been warm and have had runny noses for the past few days.  They have both been chewing on their fingers, but Kieran especially.  Lord Jesus please give me the grace and patience to get through each day!

Kieran has been especially difficult.  The longest he will sleep at a time is 30- maybe 45 minutes.  He always wakes up and just excepts my breast to be there for him to nurse.  Every time he falls asleep in my arms he wakes up when I try to lay him down.  These short naps have lead to a very cranky tired little boy.  He is still waking about every three hours at night to nurse.  I am thinking I am going to have to let him cry to sleep.  It's so hard to have him attached all the time (either holding him, nursing him or carrying him in the ergo).  I'm really missing cuddle time with my hubby.  However, I should probably try to cherish these bonding times with him because he will be big before I know it!

My phone is dead!  Thankfully we had an old one of Gabe's lying around that I am able to use.  However all my numbers are still on my old phone.  Hopefully we'll be able to figure out this weekend if it was the charger and get it fixed.  Gabe is eligible to get a new phone in two weeks and he has graciously offered to let me get a new one instead.

The annual family reunion camping trip that my family organizes starts today in OR.  I am so bummed that we couldn't make it, but I hope everyone has a wonderful time and takes lots of pictures!  We are definitely going to try and work it in to our schedule next year.  Happy Camping and happy weekend to all!
