1. When driving, are you more likely to listen to the radio, to CDs or an iPod, or nothing at all?
If I'm alone, I usually listen to the radio. However, every.single.time I'm in the car with the children the boys BEG to listen to Glory Stories (CD's on the lives of the saints). I guess there's nothing wrong with that eh? But if it's just a short drive I persuade them to listen to some music instead because I feel like I'm constantly listening to talking as it is and music is a nice way to change it up.
Window if traveling alone and not pregnant. Aisle if traveling with a baby, children, or pregnant.
3. Do you fall asleep on your side, back, or stomach? What position are you in when you wake up?
Lately I have been falling asleep and waking up on my side because I'm usually nursing the baby. But if I wake up during the night I will roll over to my stomach for a few blissful seconds before the baby's up and ready to eat again.
4. When is the last time you attended a zoo, circus, carnival, county fair, or parade?
oof I'm going to have to look back at the picture albums for this one. Let's see...OK, I have no idea. It was probably the University of Florida homecoming parade last November.
5. Do you have a favorite quote or inspirational saying?
"How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers". - Mother Teresa
6. What's the best thing about summer?
Well, I really hate Florida summers so really nothing except maybe more time spent at the beach?
OK, I just realized I totally answered the wrong questions for this week so here are the correct ones!
1. What do you still want to do this summer?
Go to the beach at least once more (planning on doing that Sunday), and go to one of the springs for swimming and/or tubing.
2. What's your favorite kind of pie?
2. What's your favorite kind of pie?
ummmm. I love pie. I love it a lot more than cake. I think my favorite is pumpkin with whipped cream and lemon meringue.
3. How much sleep do you need each day? How much do you get?
3. How much sleep do you need each day? How much do you get?
I need about 7-8 hours to be a happy gal. I would say I've been getting a decent amount lately considering I have a new baby. I've been going to sleep around 11 and getting up between 6:30 and 7. Granted, I am nursing quite often during the night so I'm getting interrupted hours of sleep but I think I'm getting used to it. Sadly, I have not been able to get a decent nap in these days. Usually someone comes and bangs on the door or wakes me up right after I've fallen asleep or the baby decides not to nap when I want to.
4. Do you prefer to swim in a pool, lake, river, or ocean?
4. Do you prefer to swim in a pool, lake, river, or ocean?
Oooo, hard one. To actually SWIM I would say pool. I am a bit scared of really swimming in the ocean lest I get swept away or caught in a rip tide. That happened to me once. Gabe and I were swimming at one of the beaches in the Pacific in CA and we got caught in a rip tide. We kept trying to swim sideways because I'd heard that's the only way to get in to shore and out of the riptide. We were starting to get tired and asked one of the boogie boarders close by for help. He just kept swimming and pointed back to the life guard and said "he's coming." Can you believe it? Anyway, the lifeguard finally made it to us and we were able to hang on to his board and we finally got back to the beach. The life guard had a really hard time getting in too. It was scary.
5. Do you know any poems by heart?
5. Do you know any poems by heart?
nope. But working on some with the boys for school this year so it won't be long. :)
6. Do you use the public library?
6. Do you use the public library?
yes! I love it! I love the fact that I can sit on my computer at home and put all these items on hold and then pick them up at my own convenience. So wonderful for a Mama with lots of littles. Our library has a wonderful children's area too. There is a little fenced in playground right outside the back door. My boys love to use the children's computers. The children's area is separated pretty well from the rest of the library so need to worry about being quiet. Also, our library system here does not charge for overdue books. So awesome!
