Happy Feast of the Epiphany (yesterday)

Yesterday we celebrated the feast of the Epiphany.  Yes, the church did celebrate it on the 5th but we kept our celebrations on the 6th this year which is the traditional feast day.  The kids had fun making Epiphany crowns and in the evening we followed the "star" around the house while Elias played "We Three Kings" and Daddy blessed the house.  We also had popcorn and watched "The Fourth Wiseman."  I am so sad the Christmas season is almost over!  The church celebrates until next Sunday which is the Baptism of the Lord.  I think I'm going to take down Christmas decorations this week.

Yesterday we started back up school after our two week break.  It went very smoothly yesterday and today for which I am very thankful.  Only four more months and we'll be done for the summer!  (We are planning to finish at the end of April.)

We are also busy this week preparing for Kieran's 4th birthday and party which will be this Saturday.  He chose a Diego/Jungle safari theme.  Hopefully it'll all come together in time.  :)

Homeschool group was canceled tomorrow because of the "cold" weather!  It was 25 this morning and hasn't gotten above 40 today.  Tomorrow it's supposed to be warmer in the 60's and we are supposed to hit 80 by the weekend!  Crazy eh?  I guess that's Florida for you!  The one thing that does bother me is having a half winter/half summer wardrobe in all the kid's drawers.  It doesn't quite all fit and sometimes we run out of one or the other and I have to dig in the bins to find more.  Ugh.  On the plus side, thanks to the cooler weather I have not seen a cockroach in my house for about two weeks.  I guess they are all in hibernation.  So nice!  It still doesn't keep me from glancing about the room quickly after I turn on a light but at least there's nothing to run and chase.  :)  Always something to be thankful for, right?  ;)

My father celebrated his 60th birthday yesterday!  Happy Birthday Dad!  Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you!

All for now and I definitely hope to do better at blogging this year.  I only blogged 39 times last year!  Kinda sad, eh?
