7 Quick Takes

1.
So glad it's Friday!  And so thankful we made it to Mass this morning!  Last night was rough.  Juliette woke up so Gabe brought her in our bed and we didn't get much sleep.  I think someone was trying to prevent us from getting to Mass this morning.  After Mass we dropped Gabe off at school and then headed to the park for a playdate.  Tonight we're planning to attend the stations of the cross at six.  Tomorrow the boys have a Blue Knights Meeting here and then Gabe is going to do some tune-up work on our car.  I haven't decided yet what I will do....maybe some errands with the three youngest.  Hopefully Sunday we can have some nice family time.  :)

Boy has it warmed up this week!  It got pretty warm at the park and the boys wanted to go in the sprinkler.  I think it's supposed to rain Sunday though and cool down a bit by the middle of next week so we'll see.  It will be sprinkler weather soon enough.

Here is a Quick Take from my unpublished post from last week.
One of our Lenten resolutions is to attend the Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent.  But it didn't work out quite as we'd planned this evening.  I looked up the stations time and it was 6PM by the bulletin.  Gabe had a Knights of Columbus meeting at 7pm, so plenty of time to attend the stations, right?  Well, we arrived at the church around 5:50, and evening Mass was still in session.  So we hung out in the parish hall for a bit and then found out that stations were going to be after vespers at 6:30.  OK, still time for Daddy to make his 7pm meeting.  So we headed into the church for vespers and after they were finished, discovered that the stations were not starting until 6:45.  So, we decided it was important that Gabe make his meeting and we headed out.  We get home and I put the children in bed and get a text from Gabe that they are post-poning the Knights of Columbus meeting because there are not enough men present for the voting.  I just had to laugh.  At least we got to Vespers right?  I guess we'll just try again next Friday.

I have been having a tablespoon of coconut oil with every meal either in tea or a smoothie.  I heard that it increases one's metabolism and can also aid in weight loss.  It also has really helped curve my appetite for sugar and carbs which has been fantastic.  Now that I have my diet pretty much on track I just need to get back to the gym.  It's just about getting over there and renewing my membership.  The hard thing is, that it's on campus so I need to have Gabe with me to drop me off because there is nowhere to park unless I have a permit.  So, hopefully we can get it figured out by next week.

5.
The past few days I have spent cleaning the house.  Not a crazy spring cleaning, but just vacuuming, dusting and spraying window sills.  Today I need to finish up with the bathrooms and our bedroom.  We still need to fit in time for a good spring cleaning but I don't know when that will be.  Maybe Palm Sunday weekend...

Well, we have a busy March coming up!  My Mother-in-law and my husband's grandmother will be here visiting from March 2-13.  I just made plans with my Mom to meet up near Pensacola beach in the panhandle for a camping trip March12-16.  I can't wait!  My two sisters and brother will also be there and we will get to celebrate my Mom's birthday with her on the 13th.  Unfortunately Gabe won't be coming with us, but my family will be lots of help with the kiddos.  I'm just hoping the five hour drive each way will go OK.  The afternoon that we get back, the 16th, Gabe and the boys have a Blue Knights meeting and it's going to be a camp-out until the 17th.  So I get to plan and make our St. Patrick's Day dinner.  The next weekend is Palm Sunday (plan free so far) and Wednesday of Holy week we are heading up to Kentucky to visit our friends for Easter for a week.  We haven't seen them since they moved away last summer so it'll be a blast!

7.
I'll close with a Happy Birthday shout-out to my dear friend Lorrie Kenney!  She's up in KY now, so we can't celebrate together, but Lorrie, I pray you have a very blessed and special day.  Looking forward to seeing you next month!  Love you and miss you!  God bless you always and may Mary our Mother keep you close to her always.  xoxoxoxo
