Lent in the Dilanji House

Woah, am I so thankful for this Lenten season!  It is a wonderful time to focus on extra prayer and sacrifices for parents and children alike.  I just wanted to do a short post on what our Lenten activities this year.

The boys' Lenten calendars.  Each day when they perform a nice deed or offer something up, they can paste a little clipart picture on their calendar.
Our  Easter magnets are on the fridge for acting out stories
Aidan telling a story with our Easter puzzle story board

Our very small collection of Easter books (which will be expanding this year) are on the living room table.  I have already purchased each child a new Easter story.
Our Jesus tree.  Each day we hang up a figure and read a passage from the Bible.  It starts from the Presentation of Jesus in the temple until his resurrection.

The children are also only watching religious movies.  We are trying to attend Mass at least once a week, and to the stations of the cross on Fridays.  And of course, no treats or sweets or coffee except on Sundays.  Daddy is giving up video games, I am trying to be more productive around the house, and we are both attempting to include more prayer and spiritual reading into our daily schedules.  It is going to be a great Lent!
