39 weeks and other things

So here we are at 39 weeks plus one day!  I wanted to be asleep right now but the baby is laying in such a way that my back feels like it's being pinched and I can't breathe well so here I am sitting as upright as possible at the computer because it's not as painful as laying down.  Yep, that's what having a full term baby in utero does to ya.  It's a hell of a lot uncomfortable!  But I'm so excited and can't wait to hold our new little guy.  Each night I go to bed wondering if it's going to be "the night" and each morning I wake up still gigantic and pregnant.  Lol.  Any day now baby.  :)  We're ready.  The children are so excited and keep asking "how many more days until Xavier gets here Mom?"  Juliette is especially excited and I'm so excited for her!  And of course I can't wait to not have heartburn, and not have to pee 24/7, and be able to actually bend over.  All those things you take for granted whilst not pregnant!  Pretty much all is ready for baby though.  I have all my homebirth supplies, baby clothes are washed and put away, I did some baking last week for the freezer and I went to confession.  :)  I have books on hold at the library (ready for pick-up) so I'll have reading material for post-baby.

Waiting for baby (38 weeks, 4 days)

It's been about two weeks since my mother-in-law jetted back to CA.  My Mom was supposed to arrive a week ago but due to complications has been unable to make it out here yet.  Poor hubby has been doing pretty much everything (cooking, taking care of the children, cleaning) all alone.  Thankfully one of my sisters is due to arrive tomorrow and my Mom has a flight re-scheduled to arrive Wednesday night.  Whoo-hoo for help and reinforcements!  My brother will be visiting in early June for a week after the baby arrives (fingers crossed) so it'll be nice to have all the help and family around.

Enjoying cuddling Connor

I've been trying to keep busy with little projects and getting things crossed of my "to do" list so I don't get depressed just sitting around waiting for baby.  Last week it was SO hot and we were stuck inside for quite a few days which was miserable.  However, the past three days we haven't had to turn on the AC and the children have been enjoying as much outside time as possible.  It has been positively glorious.  Higher temps will be back this week starting tomorrow though so we'll have to find some new indoor activities to keep the children busy.  Or else hit up the pool and/or sprinkler in the backyard!

Outdoor fun

I've been working on a jigsaw puzzle of Mary for the month of May.  However, I'm getting very discouraged because now that the easier part is done I feel like the rest is going to be absolutely impossible because of how similar it all looks.  And I love puzzles but I have seriously been considering giving up.

Do you see what I mean?  Ahhhh.

Well, the house is pretty much clean and tidy.  Tomorrow I gotta do laundry and find some activities to keep us busy this coming week.  Last night we hosted three couples for a game night which was a lot of fun although I stayed up way past my pregnant bedtime.  Lol.  I just realized that I never uploaded pictures or wrote about our homeschool science fair which was last Saturday.  I'll do that in a separate post hopefully tomorrow.

Connor loves walking around in Daddy's shoes

Well I'm off to try and get some sleep.  Will definitely keep ya posted on the baby front.  Next midwife appointment is Tuesday and hopefully that'll be my last pre-baby!
