Fourth of July

We had two days of fourth of July fun!  On the 3rd, we went to the fireworks and fanfare put on at UF.  We met up with two other families and the kids all had a great time playing together and listening to the music.  About an hour after we arrived, it started to rain and proceeded to do so for about 30 minutes.  We all got pretty wet even though we had umbrellas and rainboots.  With the rain, the weather did cool down though which was really nice.  After another short shower the Gainesville community band started to play some marches and the fireworks began.  None of the kids minded the noise from the fireworks which was a first for this year.  We all enjoyed ourselves and the kids didn't get to bed until 11pm!  Yesterday, for the fourth one of the homeschool families hosted a 4th of July party at their house.  It was so nice to see our friends again since we've been out sick the past couple of weeks.  The kids all enjoyed swimming, seeing the farm animals and running around in the huge yard.  We ended our day with some sparklers but that got cut short when it started to rain again so we'll have to finish those up tonight.
