Outside my window.... warm, high 70's, a nice breeze - beautiful weather. We went on a bike ride (boys) & walk (Mommy pushing babies) this morning. It was so nice!
I am thinking... about the baby shower that is supposed to be this weekend. I had to postpone due to the stomach bug in our house last week and now only a couple woman can attend. Thursday we're going to decide whether to go ahead with it or cancel.....
I am thankful... for a healthy family - at last!
From the schoolroom... we are plugging away. Everything is going fairly smoothly. I am a little worried that Elias is not really learning the names of the letters and their sounds with his Kindergarten Seton English book. I am having to do sound and letter diction after our lessons. I just started using another Phonics book in addition to his Seton books, so hopefully that will help to reinforce what he is learning.
From the kitchen... Nothing exciting. We are having chicken sandwiches for dinner with the leftover chicken from two nights ago. I have really not felt like cooking lately. Maybe I need to find some new recipes to try.
I am creating... thank you cards. They are long over-due and I hope to have that checked off my "to-do" list tonight.
I am working on... not letting my post-pregnancy hormones bother me so much. Yesterday I was just so out of it. I felt depressed and didn't want to do anything. Thankfully when I get in a funk it never lasts more than a day. However, I do know part of it has to do with the fact that I haven't been getting as much sleep as I need at night. To tell you the truth, it's entirely my fault. I've just been staying up too late enjoying the peace and quiet. :)
I am going... no where :) I've really been enjoying being a homebody since Connor was born.
I am wondering... Where my hubby is. He left for the dentist around 12:30 and I haven't heard from him yet. (It's now 3:30)
I am hoping... that the new sleep schedule that we have Elias on will help with his temper tantrums. He's had a few temper tantrums the past few days and we have no idea where they came from. Maybe a new 5 year old phase? Anyhow, we have started putting the children down at 7PM now instead of 8PM and we are not making him nap. I think the extra hour of sleep is definitely helping. (He's now sleeping 7PM - 7AM)
I am praying... all the time now and it's great! A couple weeks ago I set my alarm for 12 when we say the Angelus and 3PM. Now I'm trying to fit in some of the Liturgy of the Hours which has been great! :) I think my days will only continue to get better if I start the day out right.
I am reading... I haven't picked up anything in a couple weeks. I've read a few articles here and there from the Catholic Digest but that's about it.
I am looking forward to... camping next weekend. It's going to be great to get out in nature for a couple days and enjoy ourselves.
Around the house... a bin with some toys I'm trying to sell on craigslist. We sold a few things over the past few days which has been nice. I'm kind of leaning towards donating the rest. We've had a few boxes in Gabe's car to donate for awhile and now is probably the best time. Right before spring cleaning of course. :)
One of my favorite things... chubby baby cheeks to kiss. And baby thighs to pinch.
A few plans for the rest of my week... school, walks, play, staying around the house this week :)
A peek into my day...
Pausing to pray the Angelus during our walk today.
