7 Quick Takes, it's Friday!

1.
We just scheduled our first camping trip of the year for the second weekend in February!  The boys are so excited as am I.  We will be going to Manatee Springs State Park with another family.  I would like to do a few more camping trips before it gets too hot.  I definitely would like to get a couple beach weekends in as well as the Florida Caverns in the panhandle.  We shall see....

2.
Some friends of ours asked us to be godparents for their baby, expected in early March.  We are very honored and of course and I'm very excited too!  This will be our first godchild and lots of prayers are already coming his way!  :)

I've spent the past couple days updating my blog with posts and pre-dating them.  I've mostly been filling in the time between when Connor was born and now.  So if you have some time, go check them out!

This past week of getting back on our daily routine and school schedule has just been so refreshing.  I was telling Gabe the other night how happy I am to have life "back to normal" and he agreed with me.  So funny how such a little thing can really affect one, isn't it?  I'm already trying to figure out what I'm going to do in the summer to keep our routine "normal."  I'm even considering schooling through out the summer to keep the boys from being bored!  Especially with so many hot summer days, what's one to do?

5.
Last night and today we've gotten a "breath of cold air" which has been very refreshing!  The rest of the week's highs are in the low 70's which is going to be great, considering the past couple week's highs have been the low 80's.  Great camping weather, that's for sure.

This past week I've managed to have food on the table every night for dinner.  For me, that's a big feat especially if I didn't necessarily do any real meal planning this week.  It's so nice when you can make a meal out of food already on hand and not have to run to the store for one or two ingredients.  However, now that we are getting back into our weekly routine, I would also like to get back to planning meals.  It leaves me so much less stressed when I don't have to worry about what I'm going to make for dinner.

OK, this is a very random but I have a laundry basket half full of clothes that need to be re-washed because of the grease stains I found while folding the clothes.  Do grease stains bother anyone else?  It's so frustrating to me to find the stains on the clothes after they have been washed.  And it's even worse because I hate trying to get them out.  They have to be sprayed, let them soak, scrub them under hot water and sprayed some more and then washed again.  I guess I should start checking clothes before I put them in the washer in the first place, but who really wants to check every item of clothing before dumping it in the washer?  Does anyone have any tips or recommended spray that is great at removing grease stains?

Well, happy weekend to all!  Don't forget to click on over to  Conversion Diary to check out more quick takes!

  1. For the grease stains you can try - 2 parts baking soda mixed with 1 part cream of tarter, mixed with a little water. Rub the grease mark gently with paste before washing. Let me know how it works!
