7 Quick Takes

-1-
Well, it's almost Friday and I have time so I thought I might as well do this now.  :)  Gabe has a couple guys over for men's night and the kiddos are in bed.  This afternoon I went to the homebirth meet-up.  There were so many mama's and babies and children there.  One of the midwives was going on pregnancy leave so it was also a little "goodbye for awhile party" for her.  Almost every Mama there had her shirt up and was breast feeding.  All ages of children too.  It made me feel a little bad that I can't still breast feed Juliette.  No way was I going to whip out my bottle while everyone there had a baby attached to their boob.  After we left the boys were commenting at some of the "big children" nursing.  It amused me that they noticed.  All in all we had a nice time and I got my proof of pregnancy to send into my insurance!  Whoo-hoo!

I got my mother-in-law's birthday present ordered off Amazon today so it should get to her in time.  Whoo-hoo!  Another thing to check off my "to do" list.  I still need to figure out what the children are wearing for Easter, buy myself a few clothes, and finish shopping for the Easter basket fillers.  I can't believe next week is Holy Week!  I'm excited!

I don't think I mentioned that I'm trying to find someone to take over playing the keyboard for me on Sundays at St. Edward's.  It's just getting to be a bit overwhelming picking the songs and practicing each week.  I'm hoping we'll find someone fairly quickly.  It'll also be nice to have my weekends flexible again.  I still would like to sing and do the responsorial psalm so we'll see how that works out.  Gabe is looking forward to having me back in the pew to help him care for four squirmy children.

This pregnancy I haven't craved sweets as much as I have in the past with the others.  It's been quite nice actually.  I have wanted to drink more juices, sparkling cider and sodas more often though.  Don't worry, I usually buy the "all natural" or "healthy" sodas.  ;)

Next Lent I've decided not to specifically offer anything up.  Every Lent I start out very ambitiously with a list of things to offer up and every Lent I have so many other hardships and trials to deal with.  I should remember that it's Lent and that God usually gives me extra things to work through during Lent.  Next year I would like to try and accept those hardships more cheerfully and prayerfully than I have this year.  And I have pretty much broken all the fasts I initially started out with.  I'm not saying that's a good thing, but just that I need to focus on everything else going on in my life and accepting what God puts my way with a joyful heart.  I think it will be a lot more fulfilling Lent for me that way.

-6-
Today we heard back from my insurance that the little car accident I had in the toys r us parking lot a few months ago was split 50/50.  Yes!  I'd rather take that than being blamed for the accident which wasn't my fault in the first place.  I'm so happy justice was served to the other lady as well as to her insurance company. Now we are dealing with the rental car company in New York who charged us a $75 fee for "excessive trash" left in our car.  After looking at the pictures they took I only see a napkin on a chair, a fruit leather wrapper and a plastic fork.  Would you call that excessive?  No, I wouldn't either.

Looking forward to the weekend and hopefully it will be a productive one.  Gabe is helping a friend move on Saturday morning and as much as I don't want to give him away for that, we are going to be in that position soon so it's all OK in the end.  :)  I've also been despairing over the fact that we haven't found a rental house yet.  At first I was so trusting and I knew God would find a place for us but lately I've been getting too worried about it and not having enough faith.  The other day while driving I realized I needed to get that faith back because I know God has it all worked out and he will pull through for us like He always does.  He is a mighty and awesome God and he always has our best interest in mind!  Have a great weekend everyone!
