Our trip to Texas went very well. One of Gabe's friends was kind enough to drop us off at the airport here in Gainesville. It is a very small airport and I would much prefer to fly out of there in the future if we can find reasonable ticket prices.

The first plane was very small and the flight was only an hour. Kieran slept in my ergo for the duration of that flight and Elias sat next to me. Aidan sat with Gabe a couple rows ahead of us.

We had a short stop in Atlanta where we pretty much went from one gate to the next and boarded our next flight which was about 2 hours to San Antonio. I sat alone with the baby and it was nice to have a little quiet time to myself. I read while the baby slept. Gabe was in the row ahead of me and had a more challenging time with the boys.

My Grandpa Lee and Uncle Bob and Cousin Kevin picked us up at the airport and we went back to my Uncle's house and had dinner. After putting the boys to bed we hung out with my cousin Rachel a bit and then headed to bed ourselves. The next morning we met my Uncle and Grandpa at a place for breakfast. The boys really enjoyed their pancakes and Gabe and I had Mexican breakfasts. The tortillas were homemade and they were delicious!
After breakfast we headed over to the Incarnate Word facility where my Grandma is staying. She has Alzheimers disease so she needs to be watched 24/7. Grandpa Lee brought her outside and we were able to visit with her for a short time. She really just enjoyed watching Elias & Aidan play and loved when Aidan would come up and shake and hold her hand.

After visiting with my Grandma, we went up to My Grandpa's apartment and visited with him for awhile. When the boys started getting too rowdy we said our goodbyes and headed back to my Uncle's to give the boys naps.

Elias napped but Aidan couldn't fall asleep so when Elias woke, we went out and about in San Antonio. First we went to get some lunch. We saw a review in the paper for some Lebanese food so we went to try it out. Aidan was sleeping so we just ate in the car. After that we headed over to a Catholic bookstore where my friend was working. It had been at least 13 years since we saw each other last so it was neat to meet up! We chatted a bit and then her husband came by so we got to meet him. We walked to a nearby Mexican joint for her lunch and chatted some more. I also found a beautiful crucifix for our new house. I have been searching for one for quite some time and I just love this one. I'll post a picture later.

After we finished visiting I wanted to drive by our old parish in San Antonio and show the church to Gabe. I had forgotten how beautiful it was. We went in and said a few prayers and I took a few pictures.

We then headed back to my Uncle's house and then we went out to dinner with everyone minus my cousin Rachel. Here is my cousin Kevin holding Kieran.

After dinner we went out for frozen yogurt. My Grandpa walked over from his apartment since the yogurt place was across the street from him. He wasn't expecting us to still be in town because we hadn't told him that we were staying a second night. It was fun to meet up again though.

We were thinking about heading home Friday evening but we were just so exhausted and needed a good night's rest.

Saturday morning we left at 7:30 for our 17+ hour drive home. The boys were really good and spent the time singing, reading books, coloring, watching movies and sleeping. They started getting very fussy around dinner time so we stopped at Chilies for dinner. After that, they all fell asleep in the car so we decided to just continue driving. I took over until 2 am and then Gabe drove the rest of the way and we arrived home at 6 AM. It was a long long drive but we were so happy to be home.
