Tuesday post

Usually I dread Mondays but yesterday turned out to be an awesome Monday.  I was especially looking forward to starting school back up after our week off and getting back into our daily routine and it went fabulously.  I got all the laundry done, we finished school on time, the kids got outside for some fresh air, three of them napped, and I got to sit around a bit and relax.  We had an early dinner and then decided to do a family grocery shopping trip to three different grocery stores.  Everyone was well behaved, we came home and did family prayers and enjoyed an applesauce snack cake and put the kids to bed.  Then hubby and I folded laundry and watched the season finale of Downton Abbey.  We didn't finish until 11:30 and I was fighting to stay awake.  All in all a great day.

This morning I woke up not feeling so great.  These allergies? are really getting to me.  :/. I have a cough and a heavy chest.  No fun at all.  It's crazy how one day can be so awesome and the next one not so great.  Not that today was really that bad but I didn't feel as optimistic as yesterday.  It's these ups and downs that really help one to grow on a daily basis.

Anyhow, I am starting to get excited about Lent and very hopeful it will be my most fruitful one yet.  I have all these plans for things I want to "give up" but I also am thinking I need to be realistic.  If I "give up" half of everything I normally do and eat I most likely will not be able to follow through.  Therefore, hubby and I are trying to come up with a shorter list of more meaningful expectations and plans for ourselves and the family that we can hopefully stick to during the 40 days of Lent.  What are your Lenten goals?

Well, I just wanted to make sure I got a quick post in today.  I am trying to follow Jen at Conversion Diary with her seven days of posting but haven't fully commited myself yet.  Lol.

I'll leave you with a lovely picture of tulips Juliette and I picked up at trader Joes last nigt.  :)

  1. Love having 2 posts from you in a row! And loved Skyping with your littles the other day....they are growing so fast. I love them. Really miss the days we lived closer - praying for that again. :)

  2. I got wonderful advice from a beloved priest last year, do not give up/do a long list of things for Lent; instead focus on one thing which will benefit others from your sacrifice! I am still working on what I will be doing/giving up. Over the weekend I discovered that a friend fasted for Lent last year, offering saved money to a Church approved charity! Wow! As always, God Bless you!
