Where has the time gone?

September
A road like brown ribbon
A sky that is blue
A forest of green
With the sky peeping through.
Asters, deep purple,
A grasshoppers call
Today it is summer,
Tomorrow it is fall.

That is the little poem Kieran memorized for the month of September.  And I feel like our summer just flew by!  I had all these plans of things I wanted to accomplish, and hobbies to take up, but of course none of that happened.  In May I flew to Dallas for two of my sibling's graduation from UD, in June we went camping, in July the children participated in VBS, I jetted over to Charleston, SC and met up with some friends for a Mom's weekend getaway, and our eldest went off to boys summer camp for a week.  Then in August we drove up north for a family reunion camping trip in Idaho, and a visit with my parents and sister Catherine in WA and were gone for three weeks.  More on all that later I hope.  It was definitely a busy summer.

So where are we now?  Into our 7th week of homeschooling for the year, and our sweet baby boy is due in about 2 1/2 months.  Yes, I said baby boy!  We found out that baby #7 is another boy and I can hardly believe I will have SIX boys!  :)  We are all thrilled of course and can't wait to meet him.  Juliette still talks about when she's going to have a sister.  There's always next time, right?  ;)

The three older boys have taken up piano lessons and are doing quite well.  They are also participating in a homeschool PE class once a week.  Juliette has started a weekly ballet class which is so cute to see.

We are on the tail end of a fall cold over here.  Just a few coughs here and there but it had us knocked out for a good week.  I'm so thankful to be feeling better.  We are finally enjoying some cooler weather here in So Cal after a week in the 90's+ even reaching 102 as evidenced below.  Hello fall, what's going on?  Sad to say it looks like that'll be coming back this weekend and into next week.  UGH.

Hubby is going to be doing some traveling up north to Seattle over the next couple months.  We were thinking about making a family trip of it, but due to prior commitments, we'll be staying behind.  He's also not going to be gone for as long a stretch as we had previously thought.  At least for now. Things are always changing.  As it stands now, he'll be traveling four days next week, and then the first two weeks in November, but home on the weekends which I'm thankful for.  Also, the first week in December.  I'm sure we'll manage but we will definitely miss Daddy and I'll miss all the help he's been when he gets back from work especially as I'm now in my 3rd trimester.

Birthday season has also been keeping us quite busy!  We started out with Elias's 8th birthday on August 31st and we threw him a bunco party.

Juliette turned 4 on September 15th and she had a little girls princess tea party.

October 2nd was Aidan's 7th birthday we he had a fun pool party.

Coming up in a couple weeks is Connnor's 3rd birthday, and my 30th (noooooo!) in December with Kierans 6th birthday in January.  Baby Dilanji's birthday should also fall sometime in there too - date to be determined of course.  :)

Well, hope you enjoyed my quick little recap and update.  I'm hoping I'll get around to posting more about our summer and our recent birthday parties but these days I don't really feel like using my brain by the end of the night and my energy is depleted.

So, here's to an awesome fall!  Happy Fall ya'll!  Before we know it Christmas will be here!
