Monday Daybook

Today - November 19, 2012

Outside my window.... cool and cloudy.  It's been like this for the past few days and I love it.

I am thinking... about plans for Christmas.  We are thinking about driving to Dallas.

I am thankful... for a lovely Sunday yesterday with my little family.  For the friends who have been bringing meals.  For a fenced in backyard so I can send the kiddos out to play.  For a wonderful baby who is nursing and sleeping well and lets me get sleep at night.  For my wonderful husband who has been doing a great job taking care of the children, the chores, me and the house while I've been recuperating.  For Juliette!  I don't know what I'd do without my little girl.

From the schoolroom... taking a "just had a baby" break!

From the kitchen... delicious raisin bran muffins, rolls, and a chocolate chip cookie bar leftover from last night's delicious dinner brought by a friend.

I am creating... Christmas lists.  I don't want to wait last minute to decide on and purchase gifts.  Also trying to come up with an idea for our Christmas cards.  I am thinking about just taking a picture of the kids without mommy and Daddy....

I am working on... a "to-do" list of things to accomplish before the end of November.  I hope to cross off at least one thing a day.

I am going... to send my Mom a stew recipe after I finish this blog entry.

I am wondering... what the rest of this week will be like.  I hope it won't be too overwhelming!

I am hoping... to get back to teaching Elias violin sooner rather than later.  I feel guilty with it just getting dusty in the corner.....

I am praying... for a special intention.

I am reading... a novel, The Distant Hours by Kate Morton.

I am looking forward to... Advent!  I want to try a few new things this year to help us have a more purpose-filled Advent.

Around the house... apple spice candle lit, fairly tidy & quiet....for now.

One of my favorite things... cuddling my newborn babe

A few plans for the rest of my week... having a family over for Thanksgiving dinner.  Aside from that, adjusting to being a mother of 5.

A peek into my day... got up at 9, showered, changed baby and nursed him back to sleep, started some laundry, said bye to hubby, dressed Juliette, chatted with my midwives who came over for my 2 week check up, nursed and cuddled baby some more, put away clean laundry, fed children lunch and sent them outside, nursed baby to sleep and put other youngest two for naps.  Now I'm enjoying a cup of coffee while updating my blog.

  1. What a cutie Juliette is!! I suppose it would be a lot easier to take a picture of the kids by themselves...but it's so much nicer with Mommy and Daddy too. That's my 2 cents. :) It sounds like you're doing great Laura! Good job keeping up with the littles.
