Hello from the west coast!

Wow,  So much has happened since I last blogged.  We sold all our furniture, had a garage sale, packed up and headed all the way across the country in the span of two weeks!  Even though we were in the midst of packing, we didn't finalize our moving plans until about five days before we left.  It was a crazy time.  Looking back, its amazing how it all worked out and everything fell into place.  Definitely can see God's hand in it.  (Pardon the typos.  Im using my mother-in-laws ipad and realizing its not the greatst for blogging.)  So I finally have a couple hours of peace and quiet to type up all that has been going on.  Gabe has the kids at the pool and the baby is napping downstairs.

Today and yesterday I have been busy doing birthday party errands for Aidans 6th birthday party tomorrow.  He orginally wanted a superman theme but we couldn't find superman party supplies ANYWHERE!  So Pokeman it is.  The pinata and goody bags are all ready to go.  We are having a pool party at one of the pools in the neighborhood and invited a bunch of my husband's family and they invited some friends.  Its funny but some of Gabe's cousins are my kids' ages.  Its been nice to have some built in family friends to play with though.  Yesterday was Aidan's actual birthday and we went with the cousins to play laser tag.  I made lasagna for dinner, aidans favorite and we had brownies and icecream for dessert.  He had a fun day and was spoiled with some nice gifts.

So being back on the west coast feels so good.  we have defnitely missed it out here.  The weather was so nice when we arrived last week.  Cool in the evenings and mornings, and 70's during the day.  Now we are going through a heat wave where it's been getting to 100 during the day but still cooling off nicely in the evenings.  It should be cooling back down over the next few days again which should be nice.  The kids have been swimming just about every day.  One of the nice things about where my in-laws live, is that it is very family friendly with differnt pools, splash pads and parks every couple blocks.  We started back on some school this week but only did two days.  Next week we will start getting more serious about it.

I guess you are wondering why we moved so quickly and what is new on the job front.  Well, Gabe has had quite a few interviews with one company over here on the west coast.  His final interview with them will be this Tuesday up in Carson City, Nevada.  Anyway, I had this crazy idea to just pack up and move back west instead of waiting around in Florida for something to happen.  We wanted to get back out this way to be closer to family too so if nothing comes of this job, Gabe will just continue to look out here.

So the day before we had to be out of our house we still had not sold our couches or dining room set.  That night i prayed really hard that they would sell and do you know what?  We sold the couches first thing Sunday morning and the dining set about an hour before the movers arrived that afternoon.  Truly a blessing and God at work.  We hired some moving guys to pack up all our stuff in two storage containers and they are being stored in Florida until we send for them.  We said our sad goodbyes to all our friends And drove two long days and finally arrived in San Antonio Texas.  We visited my grandfather, uncle, aunt, and cousin.  My brother christopher flew down from dallas to visit with my grandpa too and We were able to help him celebrate his 93rd birthday.   The next day we headed up to Dallas to visit my sister and brother for two days.  And then Thanks to the generousity of my grandfather, i flew with my sister and all the kids the rest of the way to california.  We shipped one car and gabe drove the van with all our stuff the rest of the way.  He made much better time than we would have with all the kids.

And here we are.  Ten people and a dog in a two bedromm town house in southern california.  It hasnt actually been near as bad as i thought it would be.  The house doesnt feel too small, and living with a dog hasn't been bad like i had been dreading it to be.  It gets dark at seven (yes!  Early bedtime) The kiddos all sleep upstairs in the loft, and gabe i and the baby have the bedroom downstairs.  The weather is nice enough to play outside for most of the day and the boys all have bikes and new scooters whcih they are loving.  So here we are and we are just going to take it one day at a time and keep walking forward in faith and see where God leads us.

Well i best get dinner started.  I will post again soon and definitely update on any job news.
